"I teach Hatha Yoga but I like to use the alignment from B.K.S. Iyengar. The breath is very important as the flow of the breath in an asana and the movement of the body become as one. Asana's are named from the world we live in, animals, plants, birds etc but they also have a symbolic meaning as well e.g. Tadasana, the Mountain Pose. Strong, immovable, I will often bring this side of an asana into my yoga classes asking the students how strong is their inner body and mind. Where is the breath moving to in the Mountain Pose, Tadasana, putting their body and mind into a listening mode. Yoga students can be a discoverer, an adventurer, an investigator of themselves and as a Yoga teacher I hope I can open this 'doorway' for them. To bring the joy and discovery of themselves as we all walk this wonderful yoga pathway.
